Linnea Valdivia (she/they) is a professional freelance producer, dramaturg and playwright. She received her M.A. in interdisciplinary Theatre and Drama studies from Northwestern University, and their B.A. in English Literature (minors in Theatre and Gender Studies) from Whitman College. Both their academic and artistic work seek to uplift queer and Latine stories that live in the margins of hegemonic histories. They have collaborated on projects with theatres around the country including: San Luis Obispo Repertory Theatre (CA), Steppenwolf Theatre Company (Chicago), About Face (Chicago), Denver Center for Performing Arts (CO), the Anthropologists (NYC), the Lark (NYC), National Queer Theater (NYC), Oregon Shakespeare Festival (Ashland), Curious Theatre (Denver), Art House Productions (Jersey City), Playwrights Realm (NYC) and New Dramatists(NYC). 

Linnea is an alumnus of the 2019 National Critics Institute at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center and the 2019 POP Core Workshop at Playwrights Horizons.

Linnea is most interested in writing and supporting stories that re-imagine popular cultural narratives, challenge American folklore and explore histories that have undergone relentless historical erasure. They currently work as the Program Manager for the Gala Pride & Diversity Center and are a lecturer in the Theatre & Dance Department at California Polytechnic State University (San Luis Obispo).
